Your question, while related, is really not the same issue. I believe that you are asking about the Crystal Reports Viewer, whereas the issue discussed by the OP is about using the Solution Developer Kit for Visual Studio .NET. E.g.; it may have been better to create a new Discussion.
Nevertheless, the CR viewer essentially replaces what used to be called "Compiled Reports". It is not a perfect replacement and most of the features missing that "Compiled Reports" used to have were removed by design. As far as I know there are no plans to enhance the CR viewer at this time.
If you are looking for full functionalities on reports you want to distribute to other users, then either the users will have to obtain the Crystal Reports designer, or you will have to develop an application using the SDK for VS .NET or Java.
