Display filter panel result in a variable.

Hello,

I'm trying to display the results of a filter panel selection in a variable and append that variable to a URL so that I can pass parameters from DS to WebI.  What is the correct syntax for displaying filter results in a variable?

I'm search SCN but was not able to find any pertinent information.
